OUR COMMITMENT ━━━━━━

Canadian Quality Inspections (CQI) believes strong relationships with Indigenous communities are built through accountability, inclusion, and measurable action. Our Indigenous Engagement strategy focuses on creating opportunities in employment, procurement, and long-term partnerships while ensuring our approach is transparent and aligned with nationally recognized standards.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT ━━━━━━

CQI acknowledges that our offices operate on the traditional territories of Treaty 1 and Treaty 4. These lands are the ancestral home of many First Nations and Métis communities who have stewarded them for generations. We recognize and respect the enduring presence, knowledge, and contributions of Elders and Knowledge Keepers—past and present—whose guidance continues to shape communities today.

CQI is dedicated to establishing strong and lasting relationships with Indigenous communities and translating reconciliation into meaningful outcomes  This commitment guides how we operate internally and how we engage externally with partners, clients, and communities.

OUR INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY ━━━━━━

CQI is proud to have achieved Committed Level – Phase 2 in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program through the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business. Participation in PAIR provides a structured process to measure our progress and strengthen our Indigenous engagement efforts over time.

As we advance within the PAIR framework, CQI will ensure our actions remain practical, measurable, and visible to our employees, clients, and community partners.

CQI’s strategy is structured around four key areas consistent with the PAIR framework:

LEADERSHIP ACTIONS

Indigenous engagement begins with leadership accountability. CQI has formally committed to strengthening Indigenous relations and conducts regular evaluations aligned with PAIR criteria to ensure transparency and continuous improvement. Indigenous engagement objectives are integrated into operational planning and corporate decision-making.

EMPLOYMENT

CQI actively seeks to increase Indigenous representation within our workforce. We are committed to creating respectful workplaces where Indigenous employees have access to training, mentorship, and long-term career opportunities. Our focus is not only on recruitment, but also retention and advancement.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

We recognize the importance of supporting Indigenous economic participation. CQI looks for opportunities to engage Indigenous-owned businesses within our supply chain and procurement activities. By expanding awareness and building relationships with Indigenous entrepreneurs, we contribute to sustainable economic growth.

COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS

CQI prioritizes building meaningful, long-term relationships with Indigenous leaders and organizations. These relationships are grounded in mutual respect and open communication. We aim to support community growth initiatives where appropriate and ensure our engagement is responsive to community priorities.
